Brief Post: Philip Tobias Dies at Age 86

Dr. Tobias
(1925-2012)
The great paleontologist and researcher Philip Tobias passed away on June 7th in South Africa.

His legacy is incredibly important as he was a connection to Raymond Dart, as well as a world renowned anthropologist and teacher who classified many hominid discoveries over decades of work.

Here is a link to an article in his memory:

Thank you Dr. Tobias for all you've given humanity. And for letting us see, if even just a little clearer, where we've been, who we are, and perhaps where we may be going as a species.

  1. He died 7 June 2012, not July 7th. Please correct!

  2. Hi Rick,

As noted on FB, I have corrected the error in the post. I had been meaning to write about this for some time and this being July rather than June, I just totally made a mistake.

Thank you for the editorial review.

    Cheers,
    David
