Paleolibrarian Video Review: BHA’s Humanism 101

Steve Ollington of the BritishHumanist Association shared an impressive new video with me which he asked if I’d be willing to pass on to my friends and colleagues. After viewing the work, I conclude everyone in the freethought, atheist and humanist movement should see it.

It is quite uplifting and you can find the video here, British Humanist Video. The arguments for Humanism are presented in brief clips by several of the UK’s most prominent Humanists, skepics and scientists.  They include, Richard Dawkins, AC Grayling, Rumy Hasan, Phillip Pullman, Zoe Margolis, Tim Minchin, Polly Toynbee, and Andy Copson.

I am really taken aback by the content’s positivity and the sheer joy expressed by those in the film about why humanism and its focus on science and reason are such valuable alternatives to religious faith and religious belief.

The entire video is less than six minutes, which gives each interviewee enough time to express their thoughts and be cogent without bleeding into pontification.

It is quite an uplifting video and I urge everyone who reads this blog to take a look. It is one of those special videos which builds community and makes one proud to be both rational and godless.
